This was me in school all the time. In grad school, I made frequent trips to the departmental mail-room even though it meant climbing 2 flights of stairs (scarily unreliable elevator) when I had time to wait (running a gel) or needed a break (making computer images for papers, writing journal articles). The mailroom coffee always tasted horrible, and I tended to get the sludge at the bottom of the coffee pot.
But you do what you have to do.
