I suppose not always, but it is common enough that H's doctor saw it in the bloodwork after being on a statin for awhile (don't know how long before he had a blood test), and yes, his triglycerides were insanely high, even though we eat relatively healthy, and he is thin. The PCP told him, take fish oil, your triglycerides will go down. Sure enough, she was right.

However, H has thyroid issues, has since he was a teenager. I think that interacts with statins/triglyceride levels. He has Hashimotos.
