I just had a harrowing appointment at the endocrinologist's yesterday.

They weighed me in and I had gained 30 pounds in the past 6 months. And some of my blood tests were odd.

Turns out that my thyroid levels are really low.....so my psychiatrist's hunch was RIGHT and the depression I've been feeling all of that time (almost3 months' worth) is actually for a PHYSICAL reason.

So why do I feel relieved? Because for once it's not in my head.

I will be taking a higher dose of thyroid medicine and will be retested in 6 weeks. I see my psychiatrist in four weeks, so I can report to her that her hunch was right.

You see, I'd been taking my medicine except for a two week period (when I just gave up) and I was skeptical of her raising my Geodon (but I got a little relief anyway -- my sleep schedule straightened out).

I just hope that I can lose those 30 pesky pounds.
