Have you ever taken the Myers-Briggs inventory? The reason I'm curious is that people who gravitate towards humanities are somewhat opposite of those who go towards the sciences.

I found all these tests to be very helpful when I was choosing a direction. I actually took a class that included the tests, but many are available online.
