In my earliest years in school, I thought homework was optional. That was obviously problematic. I didn't always pay attention in class, either, because I loved to daydream. However, in middle and high school I became more interested in studies, especially after quitting ballet. I became the type that always raised her hand to participate. My graduating class was very small (25) because it was a small private school. I feel a little embarrassed and hesitant to write that I was the class valedictorian.
When I went on to university I did well, but not extremely well. I had some rough semesters mood-wise, and took some classes that were not my forte. I graduated with honors in my major, but just under honors overall. I have taken additional college courses, for credits, since graduation. They included International Relations, Intro to Psych, Abnormal Psych, and Developmental Psych. I got an A- or A in all of these. I also audited Cognitive Psychology.
Years back, just after college graduation, I continued my studies of Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan R.O.C. I did OK while those studies lasted, but they were cut short due to mania and depression. Living abroad was very stressful for me.
What was your favorite subject in high school and/or college?
