Would you take this as offensive? A neighbour who was very unfriendly to me also had an unusual voice. I mentioned this to a therapist, I said she had a funny voice. This neighbour was so rude, she didn’t even offer me a cup of tea. The therapist reprimanded me for being offensive about the neighbour. The term funny didn’t strike me as offensive, given the context. The therapist said “I would not have minded if you said you didn’t like her” and snarled at me. As was the therapist’s custom.
