I've been dealing with the same thing for 42 years. Four decades of being treated like I'm the weird one because I can't agree with a society of hedonistic degenerates. Surrounded by people who think they can just slap my shoes on and understand me without asking about my bunions and blisters.
One thing to keep in mind is progress. Today's average is tomorrow's obsolete. Homo Erectus probably thought the first Sapien was just a punk. Are we perfect? Are we gods? No. Obviously not. But I find we're the ones that try. We're they ones that acknowledge or shortcomings and question. Look to improve. And that will separate us. But it's better to be alone than surrounded by people who just want you to fit into a mold designed eons ago.
