I sort of get why it's in place, but also.. the person can't see your message anyway- does it mattter?
their's the option of starting a new thread, I know that, but when it's something like a daily dcheck- in thread, it almost seems like a pointless thing to do.
if you have for example a bipolar check in, and the person is ignoring you, the right thing wouldn't be to start another bipolar check in- because that just wouldn't be right (because everyone else is using the first one)
all I'm saying here is that I believe it's fine for users on your ignore list not to see your messages, but I'm really not sure about being unable to reply to the threads- like I say especially if it's a check-in, which is meant to be for everyone
what are your thoughts

its my understanding that there is a rule in place that anyone who has anyone on ignore they are not supposed to start any threads that are for the whole community to participate in (gaming / open to all fun questions/ polls/ check in styles/ celebrating or otherwise holiday check ins.....)
there are some threads around that have been started before this rule went into affect. for those its my understanding that if you find one to report them so that new ones that the whole community can participate in.
the ignore and posting in others threads when they have you on ignore...
it used to be that people could post in threads started by someone, and no they would not be able to see the post by the person they have on ignore ........
but a weird situation happened with that. people were quoting the member that the original posted had on ignore, then the original poster would see the previously hidden post that they were ignoring, quoted in a different posters post...
example say you put me on ignore so you cant see what I posted to you. then someone else comes along, quotes my post. you come on line and get slapped in the face unexpectedly by my post quoted in someone elses post, you throught you had me on ignore and there I am to remind you of your triggers....
not fun right. so the idea was thrown around on possible feature where those on ignore can not post in your threads. that way you dont accidentally get smacked with their post you dont want to see in your thread. Doc John found a way to do that and fix this problem.
the ignore feature isnt perfect, like it doesnt always work with those using Tapatalk / taptalk but for most people it works. a person puts another on ignore and knows they are safe from seeing those on their ignore list posting in the original posters own threads.
the ignore feature is for protecting yourself against your own triggers, not used against others. if someone has you on ignore its either because they are having a problem with their own triggers. if people on ignore lists could post in your threads after you put them on your ignore list that kind of defeats the purpose of having them on the ignore list. you end up getting triggered by someone else quoting them.
Again public community wide threads are not supposed to be started by those that use the ignore list. for those that have an ignore list and want to make this kind of thread they have to send their thread idea to a moderator who will start the whole community participating thread like check in threads.
those that find one from before the rule went into place or find a recent one that is for the whole community to participate in but cant notify (PM) a moderator and they will fix the problem.
