I'm sorry this happened to you Fuzzy.

I never got any real support until I came here for my horrendous upbringing; only once did I ever have a professional tell me that the way I was treated wasn't the way children should be treated.

Mostly people have either rapidly tried to change the subject, tried to joke me out of whatever I was saying; responded with hostility or disbelief; or made fun of me and accused me of making things up.

A lot of people have tried to rub my nose in how wonderful their own upbringing was -- going on and on and on and on and on about what saints all their relatives were to the point where it started to sound like what they were really saying was there must have been something horribly wrong with me for my family to treat me so horribly.

I hope you find peace someday. I hope I do too.
