The only way I know to choose therapist is to sit down with them and talk. We get one side of the therapy picture here, and how a therapist might work with one individual doesn't necessarily translate into how they might interact with a different client, a different personality, a different set of issues, etc. There are therapists that are written about here that seem similar to the type of therapist I know I work well with, so perhaps it would work but who knows? There are others I wouldn't even sit in the same room with because I know their approach/theoretical lense is too far from what I am comfortable with, or I don't feel their age or experience level would be what I look for in a therapist, etc.
