Yes, knowing there is an end in sight and having short-term goals and rewards are excellent ways to get through the year. You could start looking for something before you leave this job, though, maybe a month or two. If someone really wants you, most likely they'll wait until you are available.
Kudos to you for seeing that you need to keep this job for a while for the good of your resume and being willing to do so. Personal disclosure here: I had an overall good career and retired on good terms but years ago I walked off a job because of stress and I never felt good about that, it haunted me for quite a while. That particular position wasn't right for me but I wasn't listening to my gut and kept pushing on until I couldn't any longer. Looking back, if I had had a plan to look for something else, it would have turned out better. Just musing ...
