Someone once told me they weren't in love with me anymore, and it split my heart into a gazillion pieces and hurt like nothing else. I would never suggest anyone says that to someone. I'd much rather hear, it's not going to work out. We're not compatible enough. Or some other excuse. Anything other than I don't love you.
