I haven't tried Adderall so I can't comment on how it feels but it sounds like you're taking it for depression.

I'm taking Modafinil and it started to work for me after about a month.

The nice thing about it is that I don't have the effects you describe yet it's also a stimulant. It's a really subtle effect. Might be worth considering.
