Me: struggling with health issues and about to lose large number of possessions due to situation which wasn't my fault.

Mother: well I can't really help you at the moment as I've just got back from holiday which was nice but expensive and Christmas is coming up.

We live some distance away and she is very involved with my half siblings who live with and near her. I get that I'm an adult but this just sounds off to me
