1) My 10 year old daughter. I refuse to give up and let her suffer the consequences.

Even for those not religious, i still highly recommend reading (a summary) of the apostle Pauls life. The man went through two shipwrecks, being stoned, bitten by a viper, jailed multiple times, blinded, and more. But he made it so far and in the end had no regrets.
As he said just before his death " I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith"
