When I first started seeking help in 1992, after a divorce, I paid out of pocket. I did not want the charges put on my insurance plans because I did not know how my bosses would handle it. In retrospect I wish it had all come out in the open at work. Once I began trying to explain it to people I did not feel so guilty.
