getting dangerous in her old age!

About a month ago, while at my youngest's house, I had myself parked at their dining room table talking to my DIL about crafts. The 2 yr old baby walked by and grabbed a hold of the joy stick on my chair and ran me into the table which ran into the sliding glass door right behind it. It shattered. Yep! I had forgotten to turn my chair off.

Yesterday, while baby sitting for the same two year old, I squoze my way between the couch and the wall and down the hallway to make a head call. Coming back, turning the corner from the hall into the dining room, I heard like I was dragging something. My sweatshirt, I figured, because it usually does that. When I hit the front room something made me turn around and there's this river of something creamy following me. I made several turns trying to figure out what it was. My DIL's house smells like vanilla because she has something burning to make it smell that way. "AHA!" I thought. Someone left the ice cream out. Then I thought, "On the floor? Nah..." It was a very strong glue used in laying floors!!!

Hubby cleaned up the puddles with a flat nosed shovel while I read the cleaning unstructions. YooHooo! Warm, soapy water would do it while still wet!

So spray bottles. The quickest thing I could find was an emtpy coke can. I proceeded to squirt some Dawn in it and filled it up with warm water then poured it over the trail of glue.

Meanwhile, the two year old is walking through it and tracking it more. Poppa finally realized he needed to take this child outside and KEEP him there!

Just then, my son and DIL arrived home. They have a steam cleaner. It didn't work. Hubby and son took off for the closest market and rented a rug cleaner. WHEW!!! That worked.

As we were leaving, my son said "I hope you really enjoyed being here because it's the last time you're coming over. "

He was kidding... but I'm beginning to wonder if I really should stay out of the house!!

It's a pain getting old, ya know? Don't any of you do it!

Oh... and Poppa stuck the shovel he cleaned up the glue with in the trash can. Guess what was stuck to it among other things? A poopy diaper!
