I was on lithium for a few years until I went toxic at 1200mg a day due to dehydration. They pulled me off of it and the rest of my psych meds in the hospital. End result I went psychotic ended up chained to a bed and sent IP. Needless to say I don't take lithium anymore. Sorry to hear about your father.
