It’s so sad how all I asked of my mom was to consider she was mistaken and acknowledge she hurt my feelings. That turned into instant rage.

She sounds disordered and defensive. She feels backed into a corner and it activated a "FIGHT or flight" reaction and it has all just become to automatic.
One of the things that makes me take more medication is because I know I can't help my son unless I can be consistently patient with him and more clearly see what I need to do when an opportunity presents. We can only try to make less mistakes in our relationships but cannot make others be a certain way. No one won.
