I think a psychology background could be helpful in various fields not specifically related to psych counseling, research, or the like. Ideas that come to my mind are sales, marketing (and writing, design, analysis), various non-profit jobs, jobs relating to child/adult/elderly development, other consumer-focused positions, and likely more. If I applied for one of these jobs with a psychology background I'd call that background a real unique strength.

I don't know what direction I'll be going in in the future either. My degree was in East Asian languages and are studies. I did utilize that knowledge in my past job in sales and marketing.
