If you are an adult the theory is that your IQ is generally stable, so improving your IQ so to speak might not even be possible. I don’t know about test-retest reliability - I haven’t looked into that.
ummm it is possible to improve your IQ as adults. millions of adults do this every day...

example

college students are improving their IQ by taking classes at a college facility
non english speaking adults improve their IO by learning to speak, read and write in english
many people that I know are improving their comprehension IQ scores by opening a dictionary and picking one new word to learn how to spell and use each day...

learning (a persons intelligence Quotent/ how much they know) only stops if a person does not put forth the effort to learn new things.

which is pretty much impossible considering we are now in the computer age where things are constantly needing to be learned by adults and children alike.

you are an adult right... think about something that someone has told you recently that you did not know about before that you know about.... that right there has improved how much you knew (improved your IQ)

my point is human beings add to their knowledge every day so their IQ improves every day.

heres a suggestion when you go into your test come out of it not the least bit curious on teaching yourself to do something that you could not do on the test.... most people that I know that take that test come out of it with "I did pretty good but I couldnt do the .... "Im going to study up on that so next time I can do that"

the water problem ... sometimes they dont allow water in because it can be a distraction, most times the person is so busy doing the test that theres no time for "wait a minute I need a drink" the tests are geared in a way that they cant allow you time to study up or take a break. its a fast moving kind of test where there's an order of how they do it and many of the tests are stop watch timed.

my suggestion is do the necessary bathroom, eat and drink before the test. that way you wont be distracted during the testing and you wontbe getting dehydrated during the test.

and of course ask before taking a drink with you that way you will be sure one way or the other.

I can tell you when I took my test there was no time for drink. just as fast as one test ended another began. when I did ask for a break I was told no because one of the things this test looks at is how a person transitions from one activity to another.
