'I don't think it's a back problem. I think it's your breasts.'

That's what the neurosurgeon said to me yesterday at my appointment.

I've been dealing with back pain and back problems for several years. I have said many times that my boobs are too big, but I always followed with a 'HA HA!' Now it may not be so funny.

I have seen many medical professionals over the last several years and not once has anyone told me my boobs may be the cause. I have ruptured discs in my lower back as well as degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis. So far no treatment I have had has helped long term. I take pain medications daily. About 3 years ago I saw a surgeon who did not feel I was a surgical candidate because he wasn't exactly sure what was causing my pain. He never said anything about my boobs though.

An MRI in January showed my back problems have progressed which is why I went for another surgical evaluation. Over the past 2 years I have lost about 60 lbs but I still wear the same bra size. According to the surgeon yesterday, I am top heavy.

I wasn't sure what to expect at the appointment and this really blew me away. I've joked about it for years but never really seriously thought it was the cause.
