I feel that alone alone I would probably be a danger to myself. I rent a room in a house. I feel accountable to the owner (and the other renters). I just really really hope I don't go off the rails because I really, really don't want to mess that up.

Still, it's not dependence at all. I'm completely responsible for myself.
