Has anyone explored their spirituality as another way to help with feelings associated with depression? Not necessarily religion. Spirit means different things for different people.
One definition I like: "spirituality is a deep connection to the self, others, and the universe."
It seems to me that when we feel depressed, we often feel disconnected from others, the external world, and even our own selves. I was wondering if others feel that way and how they think it through?
I'm NOT suggesting that spirituality should replace other options people find helpful (such as medication, support group, therapy). But perhaps it can provide additional solace? Any thoughts folks?
I believe that body, mind, and spirit are all connected therefore depression likely affects all three.
