It's so frustrating. Once you have a mental health diagnosis, it's almost like you're never allowed to have an emotion again. The slightest trace of sadness or anger or fear, no matter what the context, is seen as a possible sign of relapse. And of course you can't ever have a physical illness, because every symptom you've got is "all in your head." You're not taken seriously. You're treated like you don't know what you're talking about. You may be made fun of. You may not be trusted. It isn't fair. It isn't right. But unfortunately, I don't know a way to make it not happen.

For the record, I've been spoken to like I'm four years old and not very bright, even by mental health professionals who should know better.
