Maybe my subconscious found information to re-evaluate a thing I thought I knew, or just maybe, that noise I am hearing isn't my mind churning but my happy pup snoring (ie getting air) in the corner of the room. Great thoughts AB2371! Thank you for sharing!
I can relate to a lot of what you said. I am an atheist but I respect people of all faiths. I used to think I couldn't be "spiritual" because the word is rooted in religion. But lately I believe that spirituality can exist without religion. For me anyway. For others, it means religion and I have no problem with that.

I love your line:
"My depression is prominent when I am alone. When I am alone I am able to introspect. Everyday I learn something new about myself. "
That really resonates with me. Sometimes i think my depression/anxiety/ emptiness is a nudge from my spirit to get me back on track. Who knows? But it might be a fun adventure to find out!!!

With regard to knowing the self, I have found therapy helpful. I know some folks on PC are very angry about therapy. Clearly it doesn't suit everyone, but intermittently it has been valuable to my self-improvement.

I will be a work-in-progress until the day I die and I'm cool with that
