I'm lucky to have my hubby home today. He's taking today as his annual "community service day".

I would like him home more and he would like to be too. It is easier to get a little private time with him alone when my daughter is not in her bedtime just across the hall. We hope he can work from home a couple days a week. He took all his teacher accreditation courses online, so he is familiar with the online class format and what works and doesn’t work. He will still have to have availability and some face to face time with the online course, but we are not sure if that is just video chat or availability at the university in person for that course.
It is also a very long drive to Beaumont from our house, and traffic is horrible during rush hour. Both of our vehicles are older models, and we can count on a few costly car repairs each year, so the less mileage we have to put on them the better, not to mention the cost of gas. This pay raise (and hopefully better health insurance) will let us keep our house, make car, AC, and plumbing repairs, eat out for birthdays, but it won’t make us not have to worry about money at all, just worry less about bills, let us buy clothes when our daughter outgrows hers without so much worry. This position has the potential of leading to a permanent tenure track position should they be satisfied with hiis performance over the next year, so fingers crossed.
