You’re very brave to keep wading through it. Distraction is my tool of choice... things get too big/emotional and I get myself busy and overworked and draw away from the process.
The fact that you don’t have a long break should be very helpful though. A suggestion I was given which I always thought sounded good, was ‘to allow the feelings to come, sit with them for a while, but to have some gentle plans throughout the days between therapy so you’re not feeling all these feels without a break. Simple things like - meeting someone for a coffee, an activity you enjoy, reading a book etc....
