Hello Saidso,
It seems your sharing brought some immediate relief. These boundary issues come down to some core personal questions, don't they?

Greed is ugly, whether it's called mark-up, profit, margin, or commission. It appears this real estate agent (REA) is working both sides. Not sure how they split commissions where you are, but here its 6% of the total, which is 3% each to the buyer and seller REAs. If she or he is repping both sides that's double the commish.

How fast they claim the buyers need a place, etc. are none of your concern if it means you violate your own rules and schedule.
So, for you, this comes back to it's your home as well as a house that can be bought and sold. As your home, you set the boundaries. People who don't accept them can be asked to leave.

The strongest words you have are: "I see this isn't working and I'll have to find a new agent that works for me and with me." And mean it. If REA fails to get the message write them a letter ending the arrangement. A simple one that doesn't go into much detail. The shorter it is the more power it holds.

One more thing, if writing on this open thread feels too exposed to the whole web, you can private message me and I'll private message my responses.
