It always pains me when I hear about something like this. One would hope that nobody would take advantage of the mentally ill but the truth is, it happens all the time; in cyberspace and in real life. I'm so sorry that it happened to you.

But it is a good reminder to all of us, this is the internet and everyone here needs to keep themselves safe. Be cautious, have boundaries, and never let someone you don't know cross that line.

Personally, I take everyone here at their word until I have a reason not to. I'm here for my own problems and to help others. If someone is lying to me, well, that sucks but I'm not going to stop trying to help just because some people might be impostors.
