I was in a meeting with all of the other administrators in my department. This year really is a case of too many cooks in the kitchen, but it was hobbled together quickly. There are four of us. Everyone thinks our principal will not have it be this way again.

After the admin meeting, I was talking to one of the other admins. She and I were speculating who would end up being the sole head of the department next year. "C, but she doesn't want it. So it would be E or me."

I don't disagree that I'm the least likely candidate for the job, but there was something incredibly hurtful about hearing it out loud.
