Sure, it is all context dependent. Also my own T did not start telling me these things right away but started doing it only after several years after he had probably sensed somehow that I had become at least somewhat receptive to these ideas and had become able to manage hearing them.

Before that he did many things that standard psychoanalytic textbooks don't recommend but what he felt were necessary for me to tolerate the treatment and keep coming back.
