I had one ending that was mutually agreed upon. Then I made contact again as various realizations hit. She would have none of it and refused further contact. What mattered to her was maintaining the appearance of authority and credibility. She ended up behaving like a big baby when confronted with failure.

I assume many of the loony and/or sudden terminations inflicted by therapists are the result of them facing failure and the dissolution of their savior fantasies. Worst thing a client can do, seemingly, is tell the truth about how useless therapy is for them... or worse, destructive. Get ready for drama and histrionics, or a cold hard adios.

I coped by developing my feeble critical thinking skills and then deconstructing my experience and therapy in general. Like everyone else, I was aggressively pushed toward a new therapist, who would make it all better, which was total excrement. Power to the people!
