Stopping mood stabilizers is a common mistake that a lot of us make. After all, we're well, so why take medication, right?
Nope. The fact that you're even thinking about going off meds is a little suspect...are you sure you're not ramping up just a little? Mania doesn't always announce itself with fireworks, sometimes it just sneaks up on you. But even if you're fairly level, you still have the paranoia and depression to contend with and the mood stabilizer probably helps with that too, even though you may not know it.
Don't stop taking your MS. You may be one of the lucky ones who never has another manic episode, but don't count on it.
