It does make sense yes. He wasnt just an asshole he was more than that. He was a mentally unstable half psychopath who kept pushing others outside of their comfort zone all the time.
Im not saying that every inventor/innovator is always an asshole, of course not, but in Job's example it was a relevant part of him. Its that same attitude that kept inspiring Apple's engineers. Its those character traits that turned new product presentations into shows which the entire Wall Street had to stream live or they would miss out.
Take a look at Musk. Turbulent childhood and whatnot. When I look at him and hear him talk I wonder just how f@@@ed up he is in reality. And obviously he cant allow himself to be "himself" in public. But either way: its lack of limitations and "why not?" attitude that helped establish many highly innovative companies from PayPal (biiiig personal thanks from me Elon, especially for those early years of PP lol) to Tesla
