I've been to Sanibel Island. It is lovely! I like that part of Florida. Usually we go to Fort Meyers Beach for Thanksgiving, but this year we went to Pompano Beach on the other side of the state. It was nice, but I'd prefer the Gulf side. Fort Lauderdale airport was not pleasant. I prefer Punta Gorda, which we can also fly to direct from nearby our home. We can walk from the baggage claim to the car rental in just one minute. We spent over an hour standing in the rain for a bus to the car rental in Fort Lauderdale. Airports are very stressful for me.
