How did you come to be diagnosed with DDNOS back then? What was going on then? (if you want to share, and its okay if you don't)
For reference we also did not refer to ourselves as "we" in childhood, but now in healing we often do. Because we are a we. We are continually developing our awareness of each other, and developing compassion and understanding for all of the various alters, and we are learning to appreciate and love them. When I talk with my therapist or post on here whenever I talk about my alters I refer to them as them. Whenever I talk about myself and my alters as a system I talk about "we". We have a core group of alters who work in daily life and are developing our ability to work and cooperate with each other. How we talk about ourselves and each other now has nothing to do with how our system was formed, and everything to do with how our system is working together to heal.
However you choose to talk about yourself and whatever parts of yourself may be there is entirely up to you.

I dont know how I got diagnosed. I dont even remember exactly what year I was diagnosed. I cant remember if it was before or after the birth of my daughter. I just remember her and the diagnosis. Since I dont remember I have asked my new therapist to speak to her to see if she says anything interesting that I dont remember that shed some light on anything. She said my records are destroyed so I know its been at least 13 years since I have seen her. My daughter is 15 so it actually had to be before she was born. Anyway, 15 to 20 years ago. I dont remember why she diagnosed me and she claims she remembers me which I doubt. It will be interesting to see what she tells my new T but without records how can I be sure its me shes talking about? I have read her reviews and they have said she is obsessed with DID and someone else felt like they were falsely diagnosed. Since I dont remember I cant say really. Do alters go away on their own?
