But he lied to you on the phone when he said he'd called them! And I'm guessing when he actually did call, they didn't say to go to the ER. Or if they did, it's probably because he exaggerated his symptoms. I'm sorry you're dealing with all of this again.
With your MIL, do you have the sort of relationship where you might just text her about something? If so, I think it's OK to say something like, "Hey, I just wanted to check on the timing of when you may be able to take the dog." And then go by her response. Don't mention your H's possible lying. If she says something like, "What are you talking about?" then it's obvious he hasn't talked to her...
