I talk to the dogs as if they were humans. I say "excuse me" when I have to step over them, "good morning" when they come to greet me in the AM, and "I'm sorry" when I trip over one of them in the hallway and accidentally step on their tail. I also have great conversations with them when it's just us alone together in the evenings after everyone else has gone to bed.

I can't stand open cabinets or drawers, so I go around behind everyone and close them. The microwave also drives me crazy when someone doesn't finish what they're doing and "Press Start" or the number of seconds left flash continuously.

Then there's Duck S**t Lake in a neighboring town. I used to drive by it going to and from work, and I was often tempted to stop and take a swim on the way home. One day I mentioned this to my sister, who promptly said "But what about the duck s**t?" So every time I drive past this lake, I yell "DUCK S**T!!" and laugh like an idiot. Sometimes I yell so loud that other people in the lane next to me hear it, and they always look at me strangely (I wonder why, LOL). It's the one utterly insane thing I do, and even after seven years of doing it I still get a kick out of it.
