I've been on 10mg of Valium 3 times a day since September 2016. The thing is, it doesn't work. It did a little at first, but has since stopped. I've tried many anti anxiety meds, but not all.

I want to get a change. I was put on Ativan in the hospital and it worked so well it shocked me. The only thing that has touched my anxiety in years.

I'm in the process of looking for a new pdoc. I would like to be given a chance on Ativan. The problem is, every doctor I've gone to won't take me off valium because of the supposed withdrawals. Thing is, since valium doesn't work for me, I stopped taking it months ago. It literally has no affect on my life or help my anxiety one bit.

Going to a new pdoc they always ask you what you're already taking.

My question for you guys is: should I just say I'm on valium. That's it?
Or should I tell them I have been prescribed it and it doesn't work so I haven't been taking it, so I wouldn't have withdrawals from stopping it.
I don't know which way to go with this. I just know that while I was inpatient, I was given ativan and it helped so much. And I don't take valium.
Any advice is appreciated.
