If she does come up with the money, and I decide to let her stay. I'm going to insist that ODSP (provincial disability insurance that she's on) pay me the rent directly, each month. They do it in a lot of landlord situations.
Fortunately she's not on the apartment lease, and only has a sublet agreement with me, and since we're sharing a kitchen and a bathroom, landlord/tenant rules don't apply, and I have a lot more flexibility in getting rid of her.

Thanks for the update splitimage.
I have been thinking of you and how it is going with your roomie. Even if she did come up with the money would you really want her to stay on? Chances are if she has mucked you around so far she will continue to do so with getting paperwork filled in for direct payment into your account.
If she is on disability does she have a carer or family member that you may be able talk to? Maybe she could stay with them after this? Then again she is not your responsibility.
You must be so frustrated.
