Attn. All Cat People! I want to hear about your fuzz balls!
My wife and I had a cat named Horus. He was a big guy who would "pin" us aka lay on her for an extended period of time, especially if either one of us was wearing a big fluffy sweater.
Well, he passed very suddenly last year. It made my wife extremely sad. This was
her little guy. Well, we had talked about getting another kitty to have around the house. She agreed to
one cat. She wanted a black, long hair kitty. Her request was this...
"I want the "Floofiest" cat possible!"
Well, my friend's cat had kittens and there mother had vanished soon after having them. They were in desperate need of a home. So, I went over there to pick up the "floof ball" that met all of my wife's requirements (this was after only 3 weeks of quality time with the mama cat). He was playing with his sister, a cute little tabby who was
SO TINY. She was the runt of the litter and could fit in the palm of your hand.
When I picked up the floof ball I had come for, she just looked at him with her pretty blue eyes and meowed softly as I carried him away. She didn't know what was happening and looked really scared. I had taken away her protector. But, I had only come for one,
I had to leave her behind. I had no choice. They didn't break eye contact until I put him in the car. She didn't understand why she was being left behind. When I put him in the car it seemed like he was looking around for her and already wondering where she was
I had to witness this entire thing and it
broke my heart.
But, I had to stick to my agreement with my wife. We only had room for
one kitten.
...
So, now I'm heading home with
two kittens in the car
(come on, who do you think I am!) and they are sleeping cuddled up together. Perfect little brother and sister. I call my wife... "
My love, I am on the way home! Oh yeah, by the way, I stopped to pick you up a few things. Don't worry, just a couple little things... ."
When I got them home, let's just say thank God they we're so darn cute! I would have
GOTTEN IT otherwise (*cough* worth it).
We named the boy Nimbus (like a storm cloud) and the little girl Bindi (a drangon name my wife liked). However, and I am curious if anyone else does this? B actually only use their names for the vet, at home we all simply call him "The Floof" and call her "Baby Girl (pronounced more like
bebe gurlll)".
They have been a wonderful addition to our lives and my wife still thanks me to this day for going against her wishes and bringing both of them home
They sleep with us together. They play together. They are literally almost inseparable and the friendliest most cuddly kittens we've ever had. Together, we make a wonderful family
