Well I've tried before ... and it may not have helped solve any problems, but I hope it may have lessened the misery slightly for a little while. It means a lot to me when someone does that for me.

We spend most of our time scurrying around dealing with everyday banalities to take care of things, but what's it all for if we can't take the time for something meaningful or some small kindness to someone once in awhile -- lost cause or no.

That part is okay.
