My first job was miserable! I was 15 years old at the time and got a summer job cleaning rooms at a Holiday Inn. It was the type where the rooms opened to the outdoors. It was such a brutally hot and humid summer that I developed a heat rash all over my body. My skin has always been a bit sensitive. I quit before the summer was over. It just wasn't worth it. Luckily, the next summer I got a job in an office where my older sister worked. It was obviously air-conditioned and the money was much better. Plus, I worked with teens my own age. We had a good time and socialized outside of the job.

My first official job out of college was working as an English as a second language (ESL) teacher to children in Taiwan. My first career job was as a manager in the sales and marketing departments of the ESL division of a major language instruction company.

Is there a time of year when you often have a mood upswing (either just feel good or hypomania/mania)? If so, what season/months? And what percentage of time, approximately, is that pattern repeating itself?
