I'm with you wisewoman....the cost of propane to heat my house & water....is killing me. Almost $900/month.. As soon as I get the refi of my house in California I have a company that is going to replace this gas furance with a heat pump system & I am going to get an electric water heater installed. The heat pump only uses the propane when the temp gets so low that the electric doesn't work.....so basically the propane is never used except in emergencies....changing over to electric with pay for itself very quickly at the high price of the propane. They have been kind & are allowing me to pay it at a lower monthly.

I honestly don't know what people are going to do when they absolutely can't afford the gas because at this rate....that day will come

....I don't drive that much anymore...only go out when I absolutely have to to get something. Right now, gasoline for the regular is around $3.15. When it was $3.12, I was going to wait until it went down to under $3.10....oops....it went the other way & was over $3.20.

I honestly don't know what people are going to do when they just can't afford to pay the prices.....that day will come at this rate....I guess we will buy a tank of gas & then only drive & wear really warm clothing in the winter rather than heat our homes....go back to using the fireplace

When I studdied economics in college for my degree in accounting.....there was the explaination of damand but they didn't take into consideration Greed & manipulation for the hightest profit they can get.

It is sad that we have not looked into the alternative forms of energy before now & even now, we are not progressing as we should with coming up with an answer that works.....we are going to have to in the future.
