this is why: 1. You dont have to quote the post (which bugs me, i have to hit backspace for forever on my phone just to get to their name, then i usually overrun it and cant get it back). 2. Now you have a notice and record of it. 3. The email notification should have been turned off by now, unless you ask for it on your edit options.

choosing what to quote is a feature that is useful to the next post without having to backspace, I agree. A record for yourself can be nice, as well as a notification sent to the person the comment is directed. no need for an e-mail notification unless you eat. breath. sleep Psych Central, which I am sure none of us do, but also a nice feature
