I am sorry you experienced that LiteraryLark. What I see about this challenge however is how you could only work here and there due to your personal schedule and when it comes to an operation like this the individuals that get priority are the ones who can commit themselves in a way where the need is covered consistently where someone like you is just a last minute filler if someone has an illness and can't do the job. Often this can turn into you getting called for jobs that are far away from you and are not worth it for you due to the travel expenses. Unfortunately that isn't considered in that you are only a filler when needed and your complaints won't have as much value either simply due to you only being a filler instead of one of the employees that commit full time or consistently. And the truth is you will often be called last minute too. This can lead to your having the feelings you have shared. Unfortunately, it's the workers who can work on a consistent basis that always get priortized as they fit into the overall picture of the easiest way to function with this kind of service.

While I have not been involved with being a caregiver myself, I have experienced the kind of things you have described whenever I did not fit into being able to function on a consistent level.
