A question I have is why you are taking both Valium and Xanax. These are two members of the same family and it can be dangerous to be taking more than one.

I have ADD too but have never taken Ritalin specifically. There are meds for ADD that are extended release (like Adderall XR) that are taken usually once per day. If you are having trouble sleeping, you may want to consider asking your doc about something like this. Plus it's much easier to just take something once per day.

I wouldn't concern yourself the the number of meds. Everyone is different and has different requirements for what is going to work or not. I take over a dozen prescriptions and 5 are for psych reasons. The important thing is whether or not they are working for you which is sounds like they are. Glad you are feeling better!
