You know, Jul, I'm inclined to think like you.
In my case, song lyrics can be quite a trigger for me. I already mentioned one in another thread, but another one I don't care for is Shania Twain's "Honey, I'm Home." It's about a woman coming home from work and talking about what a hard day she's had. Then you listen to the "problems" she's moaning about. It's all full of, "I broke a nail... I got a run in my hose... my hair went flat...." And I think, "Woman, what would you do if you actually had a PROBLEM?" So I know exactly what you mean about that person moaning because her clothes don't fit. I'm not inclined to be very sympathetic either.
And, by the same token, there is always someone worse off than you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't get your share of help too. Raspberries to those who don't believe you. Chalk it up to their narrow-minded ignorance, and just seek help among those who do believe you.
