I am very sorry your family treats you without compassion.
It can be very difficult to give up on family because we so hope for their love, acceptance and support.

It is okay to give yourself permission to start building a "family" around you. This would involve people of your choosing.

This doesn't mean you must reject your blood relatives. This "chosen family" you build/grow around you is more like an adopted family and is available to love you, to accept you, to understand you and to support you.
